Office of Academic Advising

The mission of the Academic Advising Office is to create an inclusive environment that empowers undergraduate students to successfully transition into college, take ownership over their education, pursue academic interests, engage in learning, and develop a comprehensive network of resources to persist to graduation.

Academic Advisors provide advising and learning assistance for undergraduate students by

o   explaining common curriculum requirements

o   exploring major/minor options

o   helping students develop a graduation plan

o   evaluating academic progress

o   establishing student connections to faculty and campus resources

o   providing support through the law school application process

o   counseling on the process to request an exception to academic policy 

o   facilitating leaves of absence, withdrawal and reentry processes

o   helping students become active and strategic learners through academic coaching in time management, organization, goal-setting, and study strategies
